Shkolla Digjitale, J-Coders, and Robotics Lab of the Finnish School of Kosovo are among the educational platforms stepping up to ensure that the next generation of Kosovo’s citizenry is introduced to the world of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). At the Future Developer’s Corner of the KosICT Technology Festival, supported by USAID’s Kosovo Compete activity, aspiring engineers, coders, and designers were able to connect with industry leaders and learn about potential careers.
The festival gathered over 600 makers, creators, and experts from the local and international community to spur information sharing to encourage innovation and education in ICT. In her address to KosICT participants, USAID Kosovo Mission Director Zeinah Salahi highlighted that ICT will be the industry driving Kosovo’s economy in the future, noting that, “The sky's the limit and ICT is that rocket to the moon.”
