Kingston - On Wednesday, January 27, the University of the West Indies, Mona, signaled its partnership with Jamaica's Ministry of Health and Wellness, signing an MOU that governs cooperation to achieve the aims of the USAID-funded Health Connect Jamaica (HCJ).
HCJ is a network of private physicians that expands access to and utilization of high-quality HIV-specific primary health services in the private health sector, as a special project within UWI, Mona. HCJ supports the national HIV response, expanding options for care in the private sector, particularly amongst people living with HIV (PLHIV) who face income challenges. The HCJ network, which complements services that exist in the public sector in Jamaica, aims to help relieve burden on public facilities to the benefit of PLHIV and service providers alike.
