As Haiti weathers an intense period of gang violence and leadership transition, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) works to build a Haiti that is more stable, secure, and resilient to environmental, political, and economic shocks and stresses; advances more inclusive, locally-driven economic growth and social development; and promotes governance that is more responsive to citizens’ needs to develop the capacities in people, households, communities, and systems that build inclusive progress and create local demand for improved governance.
