Anne Dudte, Deputy Chief of Mission, United States Embassy in Conakry, Cheryl Anderson, USAID Mission Director to Guinea, senior Guinean government officials, foreign diplomats, and development partners of Guinea took part in a ceremony marking the official launch of activities under the USAID-funded “Preventing Risks and Occasions of Trafficking and Exploitation in Communities and Townships (PROTECT)”. This activity is a two-year initiative to support local communities to combat trafficking in persons (TIP) in targeted regions in Guinea as a country of origin, transit, and destination for TIP victims. Implementation of this jointly developed partnership will strengthen the efforts of the Guinean government as it works with national stakeholders and civil society organizations in a sustainable, coordinated fashion to combat human trafficking.
