USAID/Mali Local Governance Program. Possible RFI FY24 in Q2

The objective of this activity is to: (1) increase resilience of the local communities in Mbomou-Uele region, (2) improve living conditions among the transhumant and sedentary population and (3) secure conservation and management of ecosystems. With the emphasis on Transhumance, Livelihoods and Gender-Based Violence, this activity will be built on the past programs.
This activity will enable local communities’ members to (i) connect and adapt to security and reduce threats for biodiversity conservation (ii) increase and promote sustainable livelihoods activities and foster economic security; (iii) foster social cohesion and rebuilt their communities from trauma; (iv) reduce gender-based violence and strengthen resilience of survivors of sexual violence.
The dynamic in the region is that armed groups and uncontrolled pastoralists, and the absence of effective good governance and security have combined to form a deadly mixture of violent crime, land-based conflict and displacement. In the recent past, LRA has had a particularly devastating effect on communities and particularly on women and youth largely because they
5 were frequent targets for abduction. Those who managed to escape, often struggle to reintegrate into their communities and must deal with the emotional trauma due to the violence they were exposed to. The Activity will address these challenges and pursue the above objective by partnering with other organizations operating in the regions.

The purpose of the
activity is to deliver quality health services at the community level through
community health cadres (e.g., CHAs, CHPs, CAHWs) and their supporting systems.
The activity will complement other USAID investments in the public and animal
health sectors in targeted geographic areas to reduce health gaps associated with geo-location, differences in income, education level, among other factors.
Through this activity, USAID will Increase access to quality health, nutrition and surveillance services
through trained, supervised, and motivated CHWs (CHAs, CHPs CAHWs); ensure CHAs can confidently provide quality services including diagnostic services through robust supervision, training, new approaches to messaging around nutrition, family planning, immunization and other MCH services using the required tools and supplies, and Community Animal Health Worker (CAHWs) capacity increased for early detection and reporting of priority diseases; Provide Support to the Government of Liberia’s National Community Health Assistants
Program through capacity building of key program units and County Health Teams and personnel, provision of stipends to Community Health Assistants (CHAs), Community Health Promoters (CHPs), Community Animal Health Workers (CAHWs).

The Afghanistan Integrated Youth Activity (AIYA) aims to empower Afghan youth, particularly girls and young women by equipping them with market relevant technical and soft skills. AIYA seeks to improve learning outcomes and economic opportunities for both young men and women. The goal is to ensure that Afghan youth, especially girls and young women acquire technical and soft skills to thrive in the market.

The main goal of the Trade, Investment and Finance Activity is to increase trade, exports, and GDP and position the Palestinian economy for growth.

Morocco Climate Flagship program

USAID/Guinea intends to support activities to expand a culture of lawfulness and respect for human rights, as well as awareness of rights afforded under Guinea law and international treaties. Through this five-year program, USAID will improve access to justice for all people, address root causes of delays in justice, improve prosecution systems and increase citizen trust in the justice system. Human rights will be targeted particularly through awareness raising, inclusion in activities, and civil society engagement.

USAID/Ghana's Youth Activity under Youth Power 2 Annual Program Statement (APS) will support rural and urban youth in northern Ghana with a range of sustainable opportunities, tools, and support systems that enable them to improve their livelihoods, increase their abilities to contribute as both economically and socially productive individuals, promote peace, and become engaged community members. The activity will give special attention to the needs of girls, the disabled, and other disadvantaged groups.

The purpose of the Resilient Cities Limpopo Activity is to increase access to safely managed and reliable critical services, namely water, sanitation, and solid waste management for urban residents in the Limpopo River Basin. This includes improving public financial management and increasing private sector engagement.
