In 2017, the yield of strawberry increased by 10% to 55 – 60 ton/ha. Similarly, the product price increased to 190 L/kg from 160 L/ha in the previous year. This was a result of introducing new varieties and reaching new markets, which has been the thrust of USAID’s local solution partner, AAC Lushnja, activities related to this commodity. For the first time, 150 tons of strawberries were sold to the processing industry in Kosovo and 100 tons to Sidney food processing company in Berat.
