Travels to Ukraine

Administrator Samantha Power arrived today in Ukraine to reaffirm the United States’ strong commitment to stand with Ukraine in its fight for freedom in the face of Russia’s unprovoked aggression. During her visit, the Administrator will highlight the many ways U.S. development, humanitarian, and economic assistance is supporting Ukrainians as they fight on the battlefield while at the same time laying the foundation for Ukraine’s long-term recovery and its future as a free, independent, democratic, and sovereign nation.
Administrator Power will meet with Government of Ukraine officials to discuss USAID’s ongoing partnership with the Ukrainian people as they stand up to Putin’s aggression and continue to build for the future.
During her visit, the Administrator will meet with Ukrainian farmers, private sector leaders, members of civil society, energy workers, youth, emergency response teams, and mental health professionals who are working to build a better future for Ukraine. The Administrator will also visit USAID partners who deliver vital assistance to those suffering as a result of Russia’s aggression, including key examples of USAID’s ongoing development work that supports infrastructure and institutions that are critical to Ukraine’s future.
