Today, Deputy Administrator Isobel Coleman met with German Federal Foreign Office State Secretary Susanne Baumann to exchange views on current issues in humanitarian assistance and international development. Secretary Baumann and Deputy Administrator Coleman discussed coordination concerning assistance to Ukraine, the West Bank and Gaza, the Sahel, Sudan, Haiti, and Afghanistan.
Secretary Baumann and Deputy Administrator Coleman underscored the importance of donor coordination within humanitarian responses and development programs, including recovery efforts. Both Deputy Administrator Coleman and Secretary Baumann expressed a desire to continue close collaboration between USAID and Germany.
