Alyssa Wilson Leggoe is currently the Mission Director for USAID/Senegal. A member of the Senior Foreign Service, Ms. Leggoe has served with USAID for seventeen years across three regions (Europe and Eurasia, Africa and Latin American and the Caribbean) and in Washington, D.C.

Before arriving in Senegal in August 2022 as the Deputy Mission Director, Ms. Leggoe served as the Director of the Foreign Service Center for USAID’s Office of Human Capital and Talent Management (HCTM). In that capacity, she led Foreign Service Officer hiring, assignments and career development. While in Washington, she also served in USAID’s Bureau for Global Health. Prior to Washington, she served in Haiti (2016-2019), Mozambique (2012-2016) and Russia (2006-2011).

Before joining USAID, Ms. Leggoe worked at the Kaiser Family Foundation and at the World Bank on corporate strategy. She holds a Masters in Public Affairs from Princeton University and a Masters in Development Studies from the University of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa, where she served as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar. She also holds a BA from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where she was a Morehead-Cain Scholar. Ms. Leggoe is proficient in French, Russian and Portuguese.
