Frankfurt Support Center Director and Middle East Regional Platform Mission Director

Alisa (Aly) Mautner Cameron is the USAID Frankfurt Support Center Director and the Middle East Regional Platform (MERP) Mission Director. MERP is a regional platform serving the Middle East and North Africa that provides support and technical assistance to USAID Missions and Offices in the region, with an emphasis on limited- and non-presence countries. It provides management and human resource services for a staff of more than 200, as well as advises and supports strategic planning, program design, contracting, and monitoring of $1 billion across the region.

Aly has over 25 years of development experience, working across Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Asia, both with USAID and with several non-governmental organizations. She most recently served as USAID’s Regional Deputy Mission Director in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and was the Deputy Mission Director in Senegal prior to that. Earlier in her career with USAID, Aly served as the Health Office Director in Senegal, Tanzania, and Malawi. She also served as the Agency’s Deputy Director for the Office of Population and Reproductive Health in Washington D.C.

After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Arizona, she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Niger for two years. She received a Master’s degree in International Public Health from Boston University.
