USAID is strengthening the Central Bank of Yemen, the Ministry of Finance, and Yemen’s port authorities to stabilize Yemen’s fragile economy and reestablish a functioning trade regime, while at the same time supporting farms, fisheries, and small businesses to increase household incomes.

Yemen suffers from the most severe humanitarian crisis in the world, which is exacerbated by the ongoing civil war. USAID development assistance in Yemen accelerates the relief-to-development continuum and strengthens Yemen’s resilience through programs that (a) build critical macroeconomic institutions that underpin political stability and (b) create tangible opportunities for people to invest their labor and local resources to create value and employment opportunities.
