Friday, March 27, 2020

Through the generosity of the American people, the State Department and USAID have now pledged $274 million in health and humanitarian assistance to help countries respond to COVID-19.

"This funding buids on America's record of global health leadership. For decades, the US has been the world's largest provider of bilateral assistance in public health. In only the last twenty years, USAID and the State Department have invested nearly $120 billion in public health worldwide." - Deputy Administrator USAID Bonnie Glick

Administrator Green swore in Alma Golden as USAID's new Global Health Assistant Administrator. To stay safe, they celebrated with an elbow bump.

"As we experience COVID-19's impact, I am proud of the work USAID has done with partner countries to strengthen capacities to prevent/control infectious diseases like TB," Administrator USAID, Mark Green.
