The Senate has voted to confirm Samantha Power as the 19th Administrator of USAID. Life-saving supplies are on the ground in India, including oxygen, rapid testing kits and N95 masks. To help address the climate crisis, USAID launched two projects worth $74 million in Vietnam. USAID remembers our colleague Xulhaz Mannan, a champion of human rights, who was murdered five years ago in Bangladesh. USAID emergency supplies are en route to St. Vincent Island. The La Soufrière volcano has forced 13,000 people to evacuate.
