USAID/Vietnam helps local development organizations address locally-defined challenges across the portfolio. On November 20-22, USAID’s Partner Capacity Development program trained 25 Vietnamese non-governmental organization (VNGO) representatives on “Organizational Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E).” This training is the last of seven training courses known as the “Organizational Development Trail,” which aims to build VNGOs’ capacity to bid for, receive, and manage donor funding.

Participants learned about crucial M&E elements, including an integrated organizational model, M&E and Indicators, setting up Organizational Key Performance Indicators (which enable organizations to track and monitor the success of their operations), and Organizational M&E Systems. Participants also had a chance to recap and link the previous six courses under the Organizational Development Trail, and prepare action plans for their Organizational M&E System.

So What?  This training program strengthens individual and organizational capacity to undertake their journey to self-reliance and be sustainable and able to continue to advocate for citizens’ needs and provide essential services to their constituents.
