The Vietnamese digital economy grew over 30% in 2021 and expects to expand at 29% annually in 2022-2025. In order to power this growth, Vietnam needs digitally skilled workers. The USAID Workforce for an Innovation and Startup Ecosystem (WISE) has been working with a number of private sector training institutions to scale their digital skills training programs to meet the increasing demand. As part of this, WISE conducted two co-creation workshops in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on June 8 and 13 with training and financial institutions, fintech (financial technology) companies, and employers to explore financing arrangements to enable those that cannot afford training courses up-front to "learn now and pay later.” WISE will work with the participants to design and roll out financing packages and develop a promotional campaign to reach more students.

Creative partnerships between WISE, training institutions, financial institutions, and employers will support Vietnam in developing the digital workforce and narrowing the digital divide by enabling access to training.
