Access to HIV prevention services in remote areas in Vietnam can be limited or nonexistent. To diversify and improve access for key populations (KPs), the USAID/PATH Healthy Markets project implemented a mobile service for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), a powerful medicine for HIV prevention. PrEP on Wheels brings HIV prevention services to KPs living in remote areas in Dong Nai province, and during the first outreach event 20 clients were enrolled on PrEP.

So what? Mobile PrEP services can reach KPs living in remote areas where HIV prevention services are not currently available, increasing accessibility and ultimately achieving greater coverage and uptake among those in need, further supporting Vietnam on its goal of eliminating HIV transmission by 2030.
