The USAID-supported Building University-Industry Learning and Development Through Innovation and Technology (BUILD-IT) Alliance is working to create a world class model for innovative technology and engineering higher education in Vietnam. BUILD-IT, with collaboration and input from its partners, has developed a Playbook series documenting institutional best practices that have been effectively implemented by BUILD-IT university partners, allowing them to be shared as practical resources for affecting change in other higher education institutions. On April 15, BUILD-IT hosted the first Playbook Forum on Applied Problem-Based Learning (PBL) for more than 150 delegates and guests from 33 higher education institutions across Vietnam. PBL is an effective approach for developing the technical and soft skills necessary for Vietnamese graduates to effectively contribute to Vietnam’s Industry 4.0 goals. Participants discussed adopting PBL curricula to better align the workforce skills demanded by industry and supplied by academia.

The Playbook Forum Series showcases higher education innovations and best-practices to a wide network of universities using playbooks that can be adopted by universities throughout Vietnam to expand the impact of educational reforms.
