Vietnam’s future productivity will increasingly be driven by technological innovation and the country will need to make sure that higher education is meeting market demands. On October 31, 2023, USAID, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, and the Vietnam Network of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centers hosted the Higher Education Leaders Summit to explore avenues promoting the commercialization of higher education institutions and development of their innovation centers. Leaders from 31 Vietnamese universities, both public and private, attended and formed an action plan to foster stronger connections between university research, market demands, and the development of innovative startups.
Collaboration between higher education institutions will contribute to Vietnam's economic growth, steering it toward an intellectual economy.
