Although Vietnam has made great progress over the past two decades stemming HIV/AIDS, the epidemic persists among the most at-risk populations, including men who have sex with men, transgender women, female sex workers, and people who use injectable drugs. USAID, in collaboration with Vietnamese health clinics and social enterprises, recently launched the Health4Trans campaign targeted at Vietnam’s transgender women community. The online campaign, which will run from May to September, will raise awareness on the importance of transgender women-specific HIV-related services, health care services, and strengthen transgender networks across Vietnam.
This campaign will improve access to transgender-specific health care services like counseling on hormone therapy and gender affirmation while also building the confidence of this often overlooked community.
