The Political Processes Strengthening Activity is a two-year, $3.5 million activity to foster a democratic, open, and transparent political environment. The activity harnesses the demonstrated commitment of the Serbian public to democratic values and incorporates it into political institutions and processes – parties, parliament and elections.


The Constituencies for Judicial Reform in Serbia project is a three-year, $1.2 million initiative to strengthen citizens' confidence in their judicial institutions by improving communication between citizens and the judiciary. The project is implemented by a coalition of 12 prominent professional associations and Civil Society Organizations that partner with 15 Basic Courts in Serbia.

The U.S. Department of State (DoS) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) remain committed to assisting the world’s most vulnerable countries in fighting the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. On June 19, U.S. Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo announced an additional $75.5 million to support the global response to COVID-19, bringing total pledged DoS and USAID funding to more than $1.3 billion. To date, pledged funding from USAID includes more than $227 million in assistance from USAID’s Global Health Emergency Reserve Fund for Contagious Infectious-Disease Outbreaks (ERF-USAID), approximately $200 million in Global Health Programs (GHP-USAID) funds, $538 million in humanitarian assistance from USAID’s International Disaster Assistance (IDA) account, and more than $208 million from the Economic Support Fund (ESF).

The United States Government has supported the Government of Kazakhstan’s efforts to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, providing life-saving equipment, laboratory and medical supplies, and technical assistance.

USAID Laos Business Environment, a five-year activity funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), assists the Government of Laos to enhance the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) while strengthening the business environment in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

USAID works with the Government of Jordan to strengthen the delivery and quality of health, education, and water services throughout the Kingdom in order to ensure the country’s economic stability and security.
