The USAID-funded Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) predicts that harvests from the February-to-June belg rainy season will be moderately below average due to the delayed start of the season and excessive rainfall and flooding in some areas. Belg assessment results, expected in the coming weeks, will provide more clarity on harvest yields, drought and flood impacts, and humanitarian needs.

The LEGS program is providing technical assistance to Libyan government institutions and civil society organizations as they attempt to navigate the country’s transition from an authoritarian regime to a democratic system.

To establish effective practices for sub national governance. IRI is helping ensure that local government is informed by, and inclusive of, citizen concerns. In addition, IRI supports Libyan municipal councilors in fulfilling their roles and responsibilities while engaging in sound policy making. IRI supporting the Ministry of Local Government establish structures for intra-governmental communication, administrative functions, training, and service delivery. Finally, in an effort to increase the role of marginalized groups in Libya’s governance, IRI engages youth leaders to advocate for issues in their communities.

Projekat podrške lokalnim zajednicama u odogovoru na izbegličku krizu je 18-mesečni projekat koji sprovodi Fondacija Ana i Vlade Divac. Ovaj projekat radi na unapređenju kapaciteta odabranih lokalnih samouprava, volonterskih organizacija i organizacija civilnog društva da odgovore na trenutnu izbegličku krizu u Evropi.  Svojim dizajnom projekat nastoji da pomogne opštinama da razviju strategije i strukture koje će im pomoći u slučajevima budućih prirodnih nepogoda i kriza uzrokovanim ljudskim faktorom.

BACKGROUND

The Real Say on Policy project is a one-year activity implemented by a coalition of civil society organizations (CSO) lead by the Center for Research, Transparency and Accountability (CRTA).  The project is focused on helping citizens to interact with candidates and elected officials on issues of public concern.

BACKGROUND

The Support for Local Response to Refugee Crisis project is an 18-month activity implemented by the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation.  The project improves the capabilities of select local self-governments, volunteer organizations, and civil society organizations to respond to the current European migration crisis.  By its design the project also helps municipalities to develop strategies and structures to aid them in the event of future manmade and natural crises.
