Providing secure and reliable access to energy is critical to economic growth, while diversifying energy sources strengthens energy security. In Central Asia, increased deployment of renewable generation and enhanced opportunities for cross-border power trade can help the regional governments solve their most urgent energy security challenges and achieve sustainable development goals.

The United States Government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the U.S. State Department, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), has provided more than $19 million to help Zimbabwe respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. The assistance focuses on preventing and controlling COVID-19 infections, providing reliable health information, maintaining vital health services, increasing humanitarian assistance, and improving access to safe drinking-water, sanitation, and hygiene.

The U.S. Government (USG) has allocated $20.5 billion to benefit the international response, including commitments for the development of vaccines and therapeutics, preparedness efforts, and foreign assistance.

Projekat saradnje za ekonomski razvoj je četvorogodišnji projekat vredan 8,8 miliona dolara koji radi na unapređenju uslova opšti ekonomski rast unapređenjem poslovnog okruženja u Srbiji. Unapređenje doprinosi povećanju predvidljivosti i transparentnosti i uklanja regulatorne prepreke ekonomskim aktivnostima i olakšava rast privatnog sektora. projekat se fokusira na mogućnosti koje rukovode razvojem mikro, malih i srednjih preduzeća i privatnog sektora u Srbiji.

OSNOVNE INFORMACIJE

“Građani imaju moć” je četvorogodišnji projekat vredan 2 miliona dolara koji podržava kolektivne akcije u smeru unapređenja odgovornosti vlasti i smanjenja korupcije. Projekat podržava aktivnosti koje pokreću građani u cilju jačanja mreže organizacija civilnog društva, lokalnih organizacija, aktivista i novinara širom zemlje koji zagovaraju delotovrne mere za borbu protiv korupcije i za veću odgovornost vlasti.  

The U.S. Department of State (DoS) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) remain committed to assisting the world’s most vulnerable countries in fighting the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. On July 15, U.S. Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo announced an additional $208 million to support the global response to COVID-19, bringing total pledged DoS and USAID funding to more than $1.5 billion.

BACKGROUND

The USAID Serbia Energy Efficiency Activity (SEEA) is a two-year, $1.1 million activity intended to reduce gas fuel consumption and dependency on imported fuel through improved energy efficiency in the provision of heating at the local level. SEEA aims to improve the efficiency of Serbian district heating systems by decreasing the amount of fuel required to meet consumers’ heating needs.

BACKGROUND

The Political Processes Strengthening Activity is a two-year, $3.5 million activity to foster a democratic, open, and transparent political environment. The activity harnesses the demonstrated commitment of the Serbian public to democratic values and incorporates it into political institutions and processes – parties, parliament and elections.
