Today, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)-supported Enriching Youth for Tomorrow program organized a virtual celebration to recognize the successes of the programs’ female beneficiaries, in honor of the upcoming International Women’s Day on March 8.

Participating in the event, U.S. Ambassador to Turkmenistan Matthew Klimow stated, “Gender equality has always been one of the main priorities of the United States Government. Women’s economic participation is integral to achieving greater security and stability around the world. Through USAID, we empower women to be agents of economic prosperity. And I am honored to be here today to witness your success and achievements that pave the path for many women and girls to succeed in the future in Turkmenistan.”

The event included 15 alumni speakers from the Enriching Youth for Tomorrow program and 120 attendees, including representatives from national businesses and non-governmental organizations, international organizations, and youth participants of the program.

Today’s event is one of many activities conducted by the USAID Enriching Youth for Tomorrow program to strengthen the country’s youth’s capacity to contribute to the local economy and their communities. Since 2017, the program has delivered entrepreneurship and work-readiness skills development programs to more than 3,000 young people from Turkmenistan, empowering them to succeed in their careers, employment, and personal lives.

The USAID-funded Enriching Youth for Tomorrow program is implemented by JA Worldwide in cooperation with local partners–including organizations run by women entrepreneurs.
