Littleton “Lit” Tazewell serves as the Mission Director for the U.S. Agency for International Development Mission Lilongwe, Malawi.

Prior to assuming his current duties, Mr. Tazewell served as the Deputy Mission Director for Southern Africa, Mission Director in Panama, Senior Advisor to the USAID General Counsel on Implementation and Procurement Reform, and Regional Legal Advisor in Kazakhstan and Guatemala. Before joining the Foreign Service, Mr. Tazewell worked as a corporate transactional lawyer in New Haven, Connecticut, and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Nepal. A native of Norfolk, Virginia, Mr. Tazewell received a JD from the College of William and Mary and a LLM in International Trade and Development from the University of London. He received a Superior Honor Award in 2011 in recognition of his sustained dedication and exceptional service in pursuit of USAID’s goals and objectives.
