The primary goal of the program is to increase citizens’ access to independent and reliable information and empower them to engage in well-informed public discussion of important issues of the day. The program support focuses on commercial media outlets and community radio stations.

The Revenue Generation for Governance and Growth (RG3) project is to build the capacity of targeted Government of Liberia (GOL) institutions, particularly the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) and the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), to improve domestic revenue mobilization in Liberia. RG3 will support the MFDP to develop the capacity to formulate sound, predictable, and fair revenue policies. It will also support the LRA to enhance its ability to effectively, efficiently, and transparently implement those policies and carry out is revenue collection mandate

The Government of Nigeria (GoN) Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MoARD), in partnership with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), UN World Food Program (WFP), and other relief agencies, recently released an updated Cadre Harmonisé report—a multi-sector food security and nutrition analysis—for 16 Nigerian states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Development Innovation Ventures (DIV) program recently announced eighteen new grantees. The grantee organizations -- the majority of which are new to USAID -- span seven sectors and nine different countries, from Brazil to Zambia.

UN Under-Secretary-General and Emergency Relief Coordinator (ERC) Mark Lowcock traveled to Yemen from October 23–27 to meet with Republic of Yemen Government (RoYG) officials in the city of Aden and Al Houthi officials in the capital city of Sana’a. ERC Lowcock encouraged greater coordination of humanitarian activities and urged parties to the conflict to ameliorate Yemen’s challenging operational environment, particularly bureaucratic impediments and disruptions to humanitarian operations.

Despite substantial state support, most of the representatives of vulnerable segments of the population in Belarus face problems of exclusion from participation in public life and inadequate assistance. There are more than 545,000 people with disabilities in Belarus.
