An “activity” generally refers to an implementing mechanism that carries out an intervention or set of interventions to advance identified development result(s) in a given country or region. Activities are carried out by implementing partners who are responsible for collecting and managing performance data. As a public facing resource, Project Starter features predominately examples of activity level M&E and CLA.

When designing a new activity, there are a few key resources and considerations. One is selecting the right contract mechanism. To learn more a list of common approaches can be found using the link to the right. The second is performing the necessary assessments and analyses. This can be found in the Activity Approval Memo linked to the right. In this section we will discuss key considerations, such as integrating self-reliance principles, initial planning for analysis and stakeholder engagement, and co-creation and other collaborative design models.
