USAID’s Policy Framework

Speeches Shim

The Policy Framework is the overarching framework for advancing USAID’s major policy priorities—including to respond to compounding humanitarian crises while building food-secure and resilient communities, stem the tide of corruption and authoritarianism while spurring democratic renewal, tackle the climate crisis while reorienting toward a net-zero future, control COVID-19 and emerging disease threats while strengthening global health security, and mitigate conflict, inequality, and other barriers to progress while revitalizing sustainable development systems.

The public comment period for the Policy Framework closed on August 3, 2022 and USAID is currently reviewing the received questions, comments, and suggestions for incorporation into the final draft.

As part of the comment period, USAID and the Bureau for Policy, Planning and Learning hosted a public webinar on the draft Policy Framework, presenting an overview of the framework and taking questions and comments directly from attendees:

USAID Policy Framework: Draft for Comment

The slide deck presentation from the webinar is also available here:

The final USAID Policy Framework will be released in the Fall of 2022.
