As of December 2021, the U.S. Government has allocated more than $75.5 million in new  resources and two million doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines to assist Peru in its  emergency response to COVID-19. The aid continues a strong history of investing in  Peru’s health care systems and long-term development, mainly through the U.S. Agency  for International Development (USAID).

The Government of the United States donated 500 ventilators #madeinUSA to the Government of Peru to support in the fight against COVID-19.

As of December 2021, the U.S. Government has allocated more than $75.5 million in new  resources and two million doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines to assist Peru in its  emergency response to COVID-19. The aid continues a strong history of investing in  Peru’s health care systems and long-term development, mainly through the U.S. Agency  for International Development (USAID).

Ongoing U.S. Government-funded programs and partners are also adapting activities to  respond to this unprecedented crisis. Over the last 20 years, U.S. assistance to Peru totals more than $3.5 billion, including $265 million in the health sector.  Emergency assistance comes from the U.S. Agency for International Development  (USAID), the Department of Defense Humanitarian Assistance Program, and the  Department of State’s Emergency Refugee and Migration Assistance fund.

Este convenio busca asegurar la provisión de oxígeno medicinal en el marco de atención integral, especialmente a personas afectadas por el COVID 19, a través de un programa que articule a los diversos actores que intervienen de manera directa e indirecta en la provisión de servicios de salud, en los territorios definidos. Este programa moviliza $ 1 millón de dólares e integra a 12 establecimientos de salud en 9 provincias del país.

A diciembre del 2021, el Gobierno de los Estados Unidos ha asignado más de $75.5 millones de dólares y dos millones de dosis de vacunas Pfizer-BioNTech para ayudar al Perú en su respuesta de  emergencia para enfrentar al COVID-19. Esta asistencia es reflejo de una sólida historia de inversión en los sistemas de atención médica y el desarrollo del Perú a largo plazo,  principalmente realizados a través de la Agencia de los Estados Unidos para el Desarrollo  Internacional (USAID). 

ALLIANCE FOR THE AMAZON AGAINST COVID-19

Mitigate the adverse social and economic impacts of COVID-19 on vulnerable populations in Perú, particularly within indigenous communities in the Peruvian Amazon is critical. USAID and the Alliance support the Government of Perú to adequately respond to COVID- 19 crisis, particularly in under-resourced Amazon regions of Perú.

This activity seeks to reduce the impacts of the disease through an approach that integrates communication for behavior change / social change and the active participation of the organized community.

Likewise, orientation, counseling and emotional containment services will be provided to the most vulnerable populations, and economic recovery initiatives will be supported for families living in communities in priority geographic areas, taking into account their needs and idiosyncrasies.
