The USAID Catalyze Peru initiative was launched and will mobilize more than US $100 million in investment and private financing for companies and projects in the Amazon region.
The launch event was attended by the United States Ambassador to Peru, Lisa Kenna, and the Minister of Production, José Incio Sánchez.

Catalyze Peru is a USAID initiative that seeks to connect local and international financial institutions and investors with companies that operate in the Amazon to make more sources of capital available to companies that want to strengthen their business models and grow in an efficient, sustainable, and responsible way.
Catalyze Peru plans to mobilize more than US $100 million in private financing through provision of technical assistance in financing structuring, strategic use of economic incentives, use of innovative financial tools, and development of digital information systems.

Likewise, Catalyze Peru will seek to identify and generate commercially viable business opportunities and business models that produce a positive impact on local economies without neglecting or unprotecting their ecosystems.

The project is aimed at large corporations and medium-sized companies up to companies related to local supply chains, from all industries with operations in the regions of San Martin, Loreto, Ucayali and Madre de Dios, as well as in the Amazon areas of the regions of Amazonas, Cusco, Huánuco, Junín, and Pasco.
