Cheryl Ann Anderson, Mission Director, USAID Guinea & Sierra Leone was sworn in as Mission Director for USAID Guinea and Sierra Leone in June 2022.

She recently completed nearly three years at USAID/Mali as the Deputy Mission Director 2019-2022. Prior to that, she was the Director of the Office of East Asian Affairs in the Bureau for Asia. Ms. Anderson brings diverse experience to USAID/Guinea & Sierra Leone from a career spanning more than 29 years of international and domestic public service. Ms. Anderson joined USAID as a Foreign Service Officer in 2003 and has worked in USAID missions and offices in Eritrea, Haiti, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Indonesia, Pakistan, Djibouti, and Iraq. Previously, she worked for World Food Program in Burundi, as a program specialist overseeing domestic food assistance programs for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Morocco, and as a Congressional caseworker. Ms. Anderson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and French from Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin, and a Master of Social Science in International Relations from the University of Tampere in Tampere, Finland.
