Director, Support to Anti-Corruption Champion Institutions (SACCI)

Eka Tkeshelashvili is the Chief of Party of the USAID-funded Support to Anti-Corruption Champion Institutions in Ukraine (SACCI), which works to improve implementation of anti-corruption policy and contribute to a reduction of corruption in Ukraine. Previously she served as the Head of Program of the European Union Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) in Ukraine. Eka Tkeshelashvili is also the President of the Georgian Institute for Strategic Studies (GISS). As a senior expert of Justice Cooperation International, Tkeshelashvili assisted national stakeholders, primarily the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, in implementing Justice Sector Reform Strategy.

She has served in the government of Georgia in various ministerial positions, including as a Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Secretary of the National Security Council, as well as the Minister of Justice of Georgia. She also held the position of the Chairperson of Tbilisi Appeals Court and the Prosecutor General of Georgia. She led implementation of comprehensive rule of law, anti-corruption, and good governance reforms in Georgia.

Before joining the government, Tkeshelashvili was a Deputy Chief of Party at IRIS Georgia implementing a USAID-funded rule of law project. She also worked in ICRC being responsible for the programs on national implementation of International Humanitarian Law. She has work experience with the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (Netherlands) and at the Lawyers Committee for Human Rights (USA).

Eka Tkeshelashvili is a lecturer on transformational leadership and state building at the Civil and Political School in Kiev. She taught Public International Law, International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, as well as International Criminal Law in Tbilisi State University, Law School of the Caucasus University, and the Black Sea University in Georgia. Mrs. Tkeshelashvili has a master’s degree in International Law from Notre Dame Law School (USA), certificate in Human Rights Law from Oxford University (UK) and Diploma in Law from Tbilisi State University.
