DATES: November 2009 - December 2010

Originally designed for 800 students, the National Men’s Dormitory at Kabul University presently accommodates 2,400 students attending Kabul-area universities.  USAID is working to overcome this acute shortage of housing by expanding and renovating the National Men’s Dormitory.  Renovations include new roofing, windows, and doors, in addition to upgrades to the electrical, heating, fire safety, plumbing, and water supply systems.  Separate dining and laundry facilities are also being built, and new furniture will be provided.  The rehabilitation of this dormitory will provide safe and comfortable living conditions for male students.
