Elise Jensen

Elise Jensen was assigned as the Director of the Frankfurt Support Center on March 31, 2020, having served as Deputy Director since September 2019.

Ms. Jensen served as Deputy Mission Director in South Sudan from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that assignment, she held a variety of USAID positions, both overseas and in the United States. Her most recent assignment was Director of the Office of Country Support in the Bureau for Global Health, where her work focused on supporting Missions to achieve USAID goals in the health sector.

Overseas postings have included Chief of USAID/Ethiopia’s Health Office, where she oversaw one of the Agency’s largest programs, valued at $250 million per year; two years in Afghanistan as Senior Health and Education Advisor and Deputy Senior Development Officer within Regional Command/North; HIV/AIDS Office Chief in Tanzania; and HIV/AIDS Senior Advisor in Malawi.

Ms. Jensen began her international development career as a Peace Corps volunteer in Haiti. She also worked for an international nongovernmental organization, Project HOPE, as Senior Technical Advisor for Maternal and Child Health Services as well as Regional Director for Africa. Ms. Jensen received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Loyola Marymount University and a Master of Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
