Readout of Administrator Green's Meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze

U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Mark Green met with The Honorable Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia, on Tuesday.

In the meeting, the Administrator highlighted USAID's close partnership with Georgia, and emphasized the Agency's commitment to helping the Prime Minister implement his Government's priorities, including judicial and educational reform and, spurring growth through small and medium-sized enterprises. He also underscored USAID's gratitude to the leadership of Georgia for hosting the Open Government Partnership summit this past July.

Administrator Green and the Prime Minister also discussed potential opportunities to deepen cooperation, in particular to build the capacity of civil society, enhance the rule of law, and strengthen judicial independence. The Administrator closed the meeting by thanking the Prime Minister for Georgia's long friendship and alliance with the United States.
