The below is attributable to Spokesperson Rebecca Chalif:‎

Today, Administrator Samantha Power met with Ambassador Eynat Shlein, Head of MASHAV, Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation. The Administrator expressed appreciation for the close coordination between USAID and MASHAV on joint development priorities, including in Guatemala and Honduras.

The Administrator highlighted the opportunities for future progress as both the United States and Israel work together to improve lives in Central America, and beyond. The Administrator and the Ambassador further discussed aid to Palestinians and opportunities for regional cooperation in the Middle East.  Finally, they expressed enthusiasm for pursuing collaboration in the areas of energy and agriculture in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The United States and Israel have a longstanding partnership on a number of shared development priorities, including in Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Europe and Eurasia, and we look forward to continuing this partnership.
