Today, Administrator Power spoke with Ukrainian Minister of Social Policy Maryna Lazebna to discuss the urgent needs of the Ukrainian people as a result of Russia’s brutal invasion, with a particular focus on USAID’s continued support for the Government of Ukraine’s digitalization of services.

USAID has supported the development of the Diia digital platform and other digital services since 2020. These services have enabled public institutions at both the local and national level to more efficiently serve Ukrainians during the war, including the provision of direct financial support, assistance for internally displaced persons, registration of damaged property, and other key services.

Administrator Power underscored that USAID will continue to support the Ministry of Digital Transformation in its development of new eServices as needs evolve. She also acknowledged that demand for social services will only grow in the months ahead, including providing housing and jobs for the millions of internally displaced Ukranians and for those who have returned to the country after departing at the beginning of the war. She committed to working in concert with Ukraine and the international community to plan for these evolving demands, and she and Minister Lazebna agreed on finding ways to better harmonize the provision of humanitarian cash assistance to Ukrainians from the Government of Ukraine and humanitarian organizations working in the country.
