Today, Administrator Samantha Power met with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi. Administrator Power and High Commissioner Grandi discussed continued humanitarian needs in Türkiye and Syria following last month’s earthquake, as well as the vital need for unfettered humanitarian access in northwest Syria and the need to keep all border crossings open for humanitarian supplies. In addition, Administrator Power and High Commissioner Grandi discussed ongoing protection concerns in Afghanistan, migration concerns, and the continuing humanitarian needs in the Horn of Africa.
