Administrator Samantha Power has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC); the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria; and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance (Gavi), in a shared commitment to strengthen accounting practices and financial management capacity in the accountancy field to build resilient and sustainable health sector systems in countries where USAID works. USAID joins the efforts of signatories to support programming for local accountancy and finance professionals to improve financial transparency, accountability, and anti-corruption measures in the public health sector.

This MOU represents continued donor collaboration, of utmost importance given the COVID-19 pandemic, and the need for accountability on the proper use and stewardship of funds, reinforcing USAID priorities of anti-corruption and localization.
