Media Advisory

On June 14 and 15, 2022, Deputy Administrator Isobel Coleman will be in Switzerland to attend the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s (OECD) Development Assistance Committee (DAC) annual ministerial-level Tidewater Meeting. This year’s theme, “Development at a Crossroads,” provides an opportunity for frank discussion about the world’s most pressing development challenges.

Deputy Administrator Coleman will share how USAID is working to shift the balance of power from western capitals to local contexts, enhancing coordination among donors to maximize the impact of assistance, and improving capacity of the humanitarian system to adapt to simultaneous complex crises. Development Ministers and Representatives of the 30 members of the DAC, including 29 member states and the European Union, will join in these important discussions about the multiple interrelated challenges facing the international development cooperation system, including unprecedented humanitarian needs arising out of the war in Ukraine, climate change, and the need to expand and diversify funding for additional development financing.
