Today, Administrator Samantha Power spoke with Spanish Minister of Migration, Inclusion, and Social Security José Luis Escrivá to discuss collaboration between the United States and Spain to promote safe, orderly, humane, and regular migration, and to create economic opportunities in the countries of northern Central America. Administrator Power and Minister Escrivá discussed USAID’s programs that help connect individuals seeking decent work with lawful labor pathways in a manner that protects their rights, and opportunities for supporting Spain’s commitment to promoting lawful migration from Latin America.
Administrator Power and Minister Escrivá underscored the importance of continuing to build on the objectives highlighted in the May 3rd Trilateral meeting between Spain, Canada, and the United States.
