USAID Deputy Administrator Isobel Coleman arrived today in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. During her two day visit, the Deputy Administrator will highlight how USAID is helping to alleviate humanitarian needs, combat cholera, and advance democracy and economic stability in Haiti. She will meet with key officials from the Haitian government and United Nations, as well as local staff and partners to discuss compounding crises in Haiti, including the current political crisis, worsening security conditions, deteriorating humanitarian conditions, and ongoing cholera epidemic. Conversations will also include exploring how the United States can work with local partners in Haiti to promote responsive and accountable governance, as envisioned under the 10-year U.S. Strategy to Prevent Conflict and Promote Stability.
