U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Mark Green met today in Washington, D.C. with Jordanian Prime Minister Dr. Omar Al-Razzaz.
The two officials noted the strong bond between the people of Jordan and the United States and their governments. They also discussed USAID's substantial investment to help promote Jordan's journey to self reliance, which supports the country's entrepreneurial, health, and education sectors, among others. Administrator Green expressed his gratitude to Jordan for its continuing role in promoting regional security during the conflict in Syria, including by hosting a large number of Syrian refugees, and his admiration for the crucial economic and policy reforms the Prime Minister is undertaking.
Administrator Green and Prime Minister Al-Razzaz also discussed Jordan's upcoming "London Initiative" in February, which aims to further boost international private sector investment in Jordan's economy.
