USAID Assistant Administrator Brock Bierman Travels to Kosovo, Macedonia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia

U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia Brock Bierman will travel to Kosovo, Macedonia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia February 14 - March 8. This will be Assistant Administrator Bierman's first visit to the region since joining USAID earlier this year.

While in Kosovo, Bierman will attend the 10th anniversary celebration of Kosovo's Independence, hosted by the Government of Kosovo. He will also meet with donors, entrepreneurs, and representatives from civil society and visit project sites. Bierman will then travel to Macedonia to meet with officials from the Government of Macedonia, civil society organizations, and representatives from the private sector. Discussions will focus on opportunities for strengthening private sector engagement, youth development, and support for independent media.

In Azerbaijan, the Assistant Administrator will meet with representatives from USAID-supported programs and government officials, and will visit USAID activities focused on rural community development and agriculture. He will then travel to Georgia to serve as the U.S. Government's co-chair for the U.S.-Georgia Strategic Partnership Commission's Economic, Trade, and Energy Working Group.
