The Technical Assistance to the Ministry of Public Works (TA-MoPW) project is a component of the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Road Sector Sustainability Program, which is designed to assist the Afghan government in its transition to sustainable management of the road network in Afghanistan.
The United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Afghanistan Public Financial Management (APFM) project supports Ministry of Finance (MoF) efforts to achieve fiscal sustainability by providing advisory services and training support to generate revenues and to improve planning, execution, and monitoring of the national budget. The project also works with the Ministries of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, Public Health, Education, and Rural Rehabilitation and Development to build their budgeting capacity in order to improve execution of the development budget. The project also will assist the Afghanistan Revenue Department in the collection of non-tax revenue from the Civil Aviation Authority, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Commerce and Industries and the Ministry of Public Works.
Promote is a partnership between the Government of Afghanistan and the United States Agency for International Development to secure the gains made by Afghan women in the past decade while providing a new generation of Afghan women with the leadership skills to make vital contributions to Afghanistan’s development in governance, civil society, and the economy. As the economic and business component of Promote, the Women in the Economy (WIE) activity is key to achieving the objectives of Afghanistan’s Transformation Decade by empowering educated Afghan women from across the country to gain the skills, voices, and resources to contribute to economic growth, to reduce poverty levels, and to influence workplace policies in response to the needs of women in the economy.

The Government of Nepal’s Post Disaster Needs Assessment estimates that, as a result of the April 25, 2015 earthquake, 28,572 classrooms in public and private schools were totally destroyed or damaged beyond use. The extensive damage interrupted the education of over 2 million children and youth.
Nepal has made remarkable progress in the education sector and expanded learning opportunities for children and adults since 1990. Net primary enrollment rates have increased from 64 to nearly 95 percent, with similar enrollment rates for girls and boys. These improvements have put Nepal on track to achieve Millennium Development Goal 2: Universal Primary Education. Despite this progress, there are concerns about the quality of education and low school completion rates. Nepal’s linguistic, geographical, and socio-economic diversity also affect schools’ ability to provide quality education services for all students.

CHAMP improves and expands HIV/AIDS services for key populations (commercial sex workers and men who have sex with men) and other vulnerable populations such as long distance truck drivers.
This project promotes evidence-based decision making, supports a regional effort to expand use of family planning services, and increases the accessibility of high quality HIV services for most-at-risk populations in order to decrease the burden of disease.
