Administrator Samantha Power signed a new partnership between USAID and Morehouse College’s Andrew Young Center for Global Leadership (AYCGL). This five-year agreement, under USAID’s Minority Serving Institutions Partnership Initiative, benefits both institutions by opening more career options, mentorship, and training pathways for university students to pursue the USAID Foreign Service and careers in international development. It also provides USAID with an avenue for research collaboration regarding international social-justice movements and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) learning and recruitment. The partnership will focus on areas of shared interest and expertise to USAID and AYCGL, including conflict resolution, climate change, and peacebuilding. Both USAID and Morehouse College will mutually support and contribute to the partnership, which helps address key themes outlined in Morehouse’s 2021-2026 Strategic Plan.
