To get started implementing the recent bilateral MOU, high-level officials from USAID/Mexico and AMEXCID conducted joint field work in the Central American country of El Salvador.  From August 23-25, USAID/Mexico Deputy Mission Director, Terence A. Miller, and Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, Elisa Riquelme, worked alongside senior leaders in this Northern Triangle country to harmonize USAID and AMEXCID programming.  The group of specialists took several field visits to exchange best practices and jointly monitor the Mexican government's flagship foreign assistance programs Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro and Sembrado Vida.  Continued collaboration between these partner agencies will ensure that the USG and the GOM work hand-in-hand to promote development in Central America and provide economic - and other incentives - for potential migrants to build safe and successful lives in their home countries.
