Background: Right now, 62 million girls around the world are not in school. Millions more are fighting to stay there. Let Girls Learn is a new effort to raise awareness about the importance of allowing all girls to pursue a quality education. Because an educated girl is a force for change. She is the future of her community. She is the leader and peacemaker of tomorrow.

USAID recently teamed up with more than 20 celebrities to film a public service announcement and web video about the importance of girls education at home and abroad. This video calls upon viewers to spread the word using the #LetGirlsLearn hash tag and visit www.usaid.gov/letgirlslearn for more information.
