Under the program, IRI works to improve the Kyrgyz Republic’s democratic path by assisting in development of a strong multi-party political system, cultivating leaders by equipping youth and women with the skills to engage in the political process and improving local government transparency and responsiveness.

Under this program, IFES aims to strengthen the professionalism and capacity of election administrative bodies and increase the civic knowledge and engagement of young people in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Through the project Freedom House strives to build the political motivation and will to address key human rights issues, strengthen key human rights institutions, legislation, and policies and bolster the human rights community through targeted organizational development and technical support.
The Kyrgyz Republic Parliamentary Strengthening Program (KPSP) is a five-year technical assistance initiative funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID).
The USAID Counter-Trafficking Project contributed to the efforts of the Central Asian Republics to address human trafficking by promoting and reinforcing gender-sensitive prevention and protection measures for victims of trafficking. The project was launched in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan in 2010 and in the Kyrgyz Republic in October 2011.
