Turning a single meeting into an international business collaboration is no small feat, but Kosovan tech firms like Incodeks have been doing exactly this with just a little help from USAID. In 2023, Incodeks joined a diaspora business-to-business event in Vienna, sponsored by USAID, Germin, and the Global Albanian Business Network. It was there that they connected with KLC, a German manufacturer with an unsolved problem.
KLC’s operations utilized machinery from various manufacturers like Siemens and Bosch that all required separate digital platforms to operate. This created extra costs and inefficiencies during the production process that were holding the company back. In this meeting, Incodeks was able to explain how they could create a unified software platform enabling factories to manage, calibrate, and monitor various machines through a single application. This 30-minute conversation, in turn, led to a new $250,000 annual contract for Incodeks to provide tech services.
The company quickly assembled a dedicated team to develop the platform scheduled for January 2025. Incodeks also started to collaborate with KLC to devise a plan to implement the system and collect real-time feedback to make it even more useful in the future.
For Incodeks, the work they are doing with KLC is the start of a much broader journey. Speaking about the potential of their new system and what it means for his company, Incodeks co-founder Partin Imeri noted “The platform we’ve built with KLC isn’t just a product; it’s a solution that can transform how entire industries operate.”
Partnerships like this are demonstrating Kosovo’s ability to deliver tailored, high-quality solutions to industries worldwide. They also show how diaspora connections can play a critical role in helping local companies grow internationally.
