COVID-19 Response

Speeches Shim

For decades, the United States has been the world's largest provider of assistance in global health, putting countries like Kenya in a better position to respond to disease outbreaks like COVID-19. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has provided over $54 million in direct COVID-19 relief to Kenya, including $8.4 million to help vaccinate the people of Kenya quickly and safely.

In addition, in response to the reality on the ground, USAID reoriented $34 million of resources in Kenya to ensure COVID-19 response and recovery remains our highest programmatic priority. USAID delivers expert technical assistance, training, capacity building, health systems strengthening, and life-saving medical equipment.
